A thing or two about beef

The image above depicts an Old English Longhorn ox: a stunningly beautiful animal. According to

An American feedlot - the photo barely captures a quarter of how large this is. The odor can be detected for miles.

Those grain-fed animals, in turn, are contributing to health problems among the world’s wealthier citizens — heart disease, some types of cancer, diabetes. The argument that meat provides useful protein makes sense, if the quantities are small. But the “you gotta eat meat” claim collapses at American levels. Even if the amount of meat we eat weren’t harmful, it’s way more than enough."

  1. Great blog and a well written one at that. Naturally we love the topic. Its a frustrating time and consumers are I think overwhelmed by "organic", "grassfed", "non GMO","grass finished" etc. Like you mentioned we welcome consumers and chefs to visit the farm. We believe you should know where your meat comes from.

  4. " A small Ontario farm that raises grass-fed, corn-finished meat is much superior to Alberta feedlot barley-fed beef "

THAT IS COMPLETE BULLSH*T ... no pun intended !!!

I have lived in both provinces and I can honestly say Ontario Beef DOES NOT EVEN COME CLOSE TO AAA ALBERTA BEEF

Give your head a shake and quit acting like typical self centered idiots from Onterrilble
One thing Alberta does better than every other province is raise the best tasting beef period .... because ITS GRASS FED not GRAIN fed like all the crappy ontario beef ive tasted.. NO COMPARISON
